Laura Clement Wallace “Plowden” 2018 A petite full size violin, inspired by the “Plowden” Guarneri del Gesu from 1735. The violin has a big sound and is easy to play, with a deliciously rich and chocolatey low end. The back is two-piece, tightly flamed Big Leaf Maple, while the top is a tight grained Alpine Spruce. French Strad

French Strad Copy A well played violin with a fake Strad label, and an honest additional label near the soundpost stating “Made in France”. A great example of a French factory instrument from the last century. The body is in excellent condition with some wear to the varnish, especially under the bridge. A golden-hued brown varnish. Medium grain spruce on the front and a one piece maple back with moderate flame. The pegs are rosewood, the tailpiece is a Wittner.
