Christian Meseil Violin

“Christian Meseil Violin” Made in 1937 in the Klingenthal shop of German violinmaker Christian Meisel, this violin is a beautiful example of work from his shop. In superb condition, the violin has a warm, orange-brown varnish with gentle shading and little wear. The back is a two piece maple with moderate flame.  The upper register is especially clear and bright. Set up to professional standards with ebony fittings, Tonica strings, and a 3 tree Despiau bridge. Available in my shop on the Sunshine Coast....

16″ Viola

15″ Viola “Euro Standard Antique” An easy-to-play viola that’s a great size for those used to the violin, this small viola was made in Romania in 2008. It is a rich orange colour with no antiquing and no signs of wear. It has a glorious, full, rich sound and is ideal for a smaller student who may be switching to viola, or choosing to play both viola and violin. Set up with ebony fittings, a Wittner fine-tuning tailpiece and Obligato strings. Available in my shop on the Sunshine Coast....

Northern Sun Violin 2020

Custom Northern Sun Violin 2020 A violin made in the award-winning Xue Chang Sun shop in Beijing; received in-the-white (not set up, not varnished). The top was removed, the bassbar reshaped and the top re-thicknessed. Custom varnished a custom rich brown with oil varnish and strong antiquing. Set-up to professional standards in my shop on the Sunshine Coast. A deep, mellow tone. Larsen Tzigane strings, ebony fittings, a Wittner tailpiece and a 3 tree Despiau bridge. Comissioned....
