Description

The Northern Sun fiddola is a 5-string violin for a fiddler or classical player looking for more versatility. The fiddola is the size of a 4/4 violin with a wider fingerboard.

We receive the Northern Sun violins “in the white”, which means unvarnished and not set up. We open up the pegbox and fit it with 5 pegs and fit the neck with a wider fingerboard. We varnish it (and can do a custom varnish by request).

We outfit it with a Wittner 5-string fine tuning tailpiece and ebony fittings, with a three tree Despiau bridge. Strings vary, but are often Obligato or Infeld Reds.
