Commissioning a violin is a collaborative process. If you are interested, you can contact me to get started.There is a waitlist for custom violin builds, and there is no deposit required to be on the list. We can talk about what you’re looking for in an instrument and you can get on the list. A deposit of $1000 is due when we begin wood selection, then $3000 is due when I start the build. The remainder is due upon completion of the instrument. Current wait time is just over a year (it doesn’t take a year to build the violin, I’ve just got to build some other ones before I get to yours!).

The process starts with a meeting to see what you are currently playing and what you like and don’t like about your current violin. We discuss wood choice, model, size and varnish look. Once the building begins, I will send you updates on the process. Your violin includes a book documenting the making, as well as an appraisal for your insurance and a Certificate of Authenticity.
